I scored my Fluke 415B on ebay kinda like a personal christmas pesent. ;-)

The Fluke is a linear(!) regulated HV power supply from 0-3.1kV and up to 32mA of current.

The linear regulation results in exceptional well regulation and stability behaviour, which even most modern HV-supplys hardly ever reach, let alone top.

Unfortunately my Fluke was delivered with a not so pretty shipping wreckage. But still fortunate ... I could straighten softly the bent pointer and the meter movement itself still worked.

After lifting the lid it showed that the supply featured all original parts. It had seemingly been used intensively. As such the dirt and debris of decades had been burnt as a sooty black layer into cables, tubes and relays ... especially everywhere high voltage occured.

So, a thorough cleaning and stock-check was to be done first.

As a matter of fact it appeared that the Fluke just needed a thorough cleaning.

An old cheap analog instrument served as replacement for the broken Glass.

Even the caps proved in most cases trouble free.

After switching on and adjustments the fluke shows a very high degree of voltage precision and stability.

I also could buy a pair of replacement tubes 8086 from a kind AAA-form colleague.

The tubes work as series elements in the Fluke.
