digitales Audio hat als Signalquelle weitgehend analoge Quellen abgelöst. Und wenn man auch zweifellos mit Platte, Radio oder vom Band absolut schöne, genüssliche Stunden verbringen kann, ist digitales Audio spätestens mit den hochaufgelösten Formaten vom klanglichen Potential vorbei gezogen.

In der Praxis wird das Potential leider all zu oft durch offenbar bewusst schlechtes mastering (Stichwort "loudness-war") nicht ausgereizt.

Gute Aufnahmen über hervorragende Anlagen abgespielt erlauben aber einen bislang nicht gekannten Realismus und Authentizität.

Eigentlich ist die digitale Welt mir gar nicht so nah und alles was mit programmieren zu tun hat ist nicht mein Ding. Aber natürlich gibt es immer wieder Berührungspunkte zur analogen Welt. Zu meinen Aufgabenbereich bei purist gehört das Design der analogen Schaltungen für die Musikserver. Ohne detaillierte Kenntnisse darüber was ein DAC ist, wie er arbeitet und was für Signale er zur Verfügung stellt, sind gute Strom-Spannungs-Wandler (I/U-Konverter) und Ausgangsstufen wohl nicht zu bauen.

(Sept.2017) Ich habe mich dazu entschlossen den Bereich Digital vorerst nicht weiter zu berarbeiten

digital audio has replaced to a large extent analog as source of music signals. And even if without doubt one can spend absolutely beautiful, pleasurable hours with record, radio or the tape, digital audio´s sonic potential excels at least with the newer high-resolution formats.
In practice though, it unfortunately appears all too often deliberately bad mastered (keyword 'loudness war') and doesn´t exploit the full potential.
But good recordings played on excellent setups allow a hitherto unknown realism and authenticity.
Actually, the digital world is not so close to me and everything that has to do with programming is not mine. But of course there are always points of contact to the analog world. To my role with purist belongs the design of analog circuits for the music servers. Its hardly possible to build any good Current-to-Voltage-converters (I/V-converter) and Output stages without detailed knowledge of what a DAC is, how it works and what signal it supplies for.
