HNCs2000-15neg

I was lucky gain.

On ebay this High-Voltage-Powersupply was offered and I got a cheap deal. I know the HNC HV-supplies from Heinzinger from work, where we have a HNC600-1 in useage. The supplies feature a very sensitive setting of voltage and current values. Mine offers up to -2000V (negative that is) and up to 15mA.

On first switch-on not much was happening though. So I opened it and checked and cleaned it. The cause of malfunction appeared to be the regulator board sitting slightly tilted in its long connector socket. Two Nylon screws sitting in distance bolts perpendicular to the socket orientation fixate the board. The distance bolts appeared a bit too long, which allowed the board to slighly tilt.

After correcting the tilt the supply started without problems. The Potentiometer gears required a few drops of oil to cure the rough running. Some more attention is needed here, as a couple of electrolytics might be replaced also.

All in all the most values and parameters are on spot though and don´t need adjustment.

Happy Chappie again.
