The Siglent SDM3065X is a 6.5digit benchtop Multimeter featuring 2.200.000 Counts, high precision, Dual display and doesn´t end by a bunch of math functions. It is clearly targeted towards Keysight´s 34461 (formerly Agilent, formerly HP). The 34461A is Keysight´s successor of the quasi industry standard 34401.

The SDM3065X even features a almost identical user interface, hence same look-and-feel at about 2/3 of the cost.

The price difference becomes clearer when You open the device. While not exactly built to Keysight´s level, the Siglent´s performance is more than just competitive.

I compared intensively my fresh-from-the-manufacturer calibrated Siglent against my employer´s freshly calibrated 34401 and all results were at least on par and quite a few in favour of the Siglent. The measurement speed for example was higher .... similar to the specs of the 34461.

The user interface is layouted logically and handling is intuitive and responsive.

The Dual display is very crisp and sharp and easy to read. The primary information is displayed in big cararcters. If only the secondary informations were not displayed in such small fonts - sigh. There were enough place left for larger fonts here also. Maybe Siglent corrects for this in a later firmware upgrade.

So, if You´re on a budget but don´t want to compromise on top notch performance the Siglent SDM3065X is certainly worth a try.

LeCroy´s prices have risen so high lately that they almost reach Keysights 34461 and Keithelys DMM6500. That is too much, since the SDM3065X in the end doesn´t offer that high level of manufacturing and parts quality.
